BATMOBILE UI

This passion project stems from my love of the superhero genre, in particular Batman and the technology used within his world. In recent film and video game adaptions of the character, technology and how it is communicated on screen plays a huge part for driving narrative of these stories. I wanted to give this same treatment to the iconic 1989 Batmobile, using UI and screen graphics to modernise and explore the unseen technology within this vehicle.

UI SCREENS

I designed several UI screens for this project to reflect various aesthetics and purposes. The main style relied on using X-ray schematics and glowing blue/orange tones for contrast. However for other pieces, I wanted to achieve a more traditional blue print/plan style, as though it could exist as a hard copy print out.

BATMOBILE MODEL

I modelled the Batmobile vehicle in Cinema 4D, guided by various online technical drawings and reference images. For the engine, I took influence from various designs of jet engines. Using a simplified version for my basis, this enabled me to focus on exploring this technology through UI in an engaging and aesthetic way, without overwhelming the piece with engineering detail.
